Please join us for the launch of the Chicago Reader Green Space Sessions. This series of expos featuring educational conversations on all things cannabis will cover topics such as medical cannabis education, social justice and equity, methods of consumption, home grow and cooking tips. We will feature a variety of experts in their fields. Talks will be held in various Chicago neighborhoods over the course of the year. This is a free event; ticket required.

- What everyone needs to know: How CBD and cannabis interact with prescription and over-the-counter meds, and anesthesia.

Featured Speakers:
Dr. Leslie Mendoza Temple: Dr. Mendoza Temple is the Medical Director of the Integrative Medicine Program at NorthShore University HealthSystem, a Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, and a board-certified Family Practice Physician. She combines the tools of modern Western medicine with safe, evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine to achieve optimal health and symptom reduction. Dr. Mendoza Temple is a former Chair of the now dissolved Medical Cannabis Advisory Board for the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Luba Andrus, RPh., M.J.: A registered pharmacist, Luba earned her pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy and a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago, specializing in eldercare. Luba has more than 30 years of experience in both the pharmaceutical and cannabis industries, including co-founder and principal of two medical cannabis dispensaries in Illinois.
In 2016 Luba founded Medication Therapy Management, to provide comprehensive educational services specializing in the application of medical cannabis. She serves on the board of directors for several national addiction organizations.
Dr. Jay Joshi: Dr. Joshi is a nationally recognized board-certified Anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained Interventional Spine and Pain Management physician. He is considered a National “Key Opinion Leader” in pain management. Internationally, he has worked in the Department of Substance Abuse at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. Joshi completed a residency and fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital, one of the busiest interventional training programs in the country.
Dr. Joshi utilizes medical cannabis as a treatment option for patients for whom it is a good choice. He has helped hospital systems and physician groups develop and improve their pain programs nationally.
Expungement Support: A representative from Cabrini Green Legal Aid will be available for small group conversations and to answer questions about expungements.
