Cannabis Horticulture Technician Bootcamp

SeedCrest’s inaugural CHT pilot program is offered as a live zoom-webinar combined with asynchronous assignments. In a three-week period, learners will cover broad and specialized topics on practical issues and methods critical to establishing a cannabis (THC or CBD) grow. This includes basic plant biology, plant health, grow-room setup, and planning a small grow operation. Dr. Alfaro designed this course as a mini-bootcamp to equip learners with information, tools, and the skills to start a micro-grow, a personal grow, and to qualify as an entry-level professional.

• Dates: Courses start on June 6th and run through July 1, 2022.
• Certificate turnaround: CHT Certificates awarded go out by July 8, 2022.
• Location: Online with a live Instructor, Dr. Alfaro, Plant Biologist
• Time: Monday – Friday from 12 pm – 1 pm MDT every day for 3 weeks, take-home final.

Format: This is a boot-camp-style webinar (ZOOM) and an asynchronous online course. *Boot camp means expedited or accelerated course. *

Learner Experience: Students will maximize their experience by having strong Wi-Fi or internet connection, a laptop, desktop, and/or smartphone. It is highly recommended that learners have seeds and/or clones either on hand or started so that learners can apply concepts from lecture to their actual grow site either at home or in the workplace.

Overview: This boot camp style course covers broad and specialized topics on practical issues and methods critical to establishing your first Cannabis (THC or CBD) grow. This includes basic plant biology, plant health, grow-room setup, and planning a small grow operation. Dr. Alfaro designed this course as a mini-bootcamp that in the end will equip you with information that you can add to your knowledge toolbox to start a micro-grow on your own, or as an entry-level professional.

Expectations: Learners have over 14+ hours of lecture one-on-one with an instructor every day for 3-weeks along with approximately 6-10 hours of out-of-class assignments that will help you to become a verified and certified CHT for jobs or to start a small personal or micro grow. Learners wishing to become certified and to fully participate must be present online for class from Monday through Friday. It is encouraged that students who take this class are ready to apply the class methods in real-time with the guidance of the lecture and assignments.
